Crawford Bay Elementary Secondary School: FTE 0.5 (Sept 2012-June 2015)
High school Science: Science 10, Chemistry 11-12, Physics 11-12 and Biology 11-12: Multi-course, multi grade setting with independent and group work. Highly adaptable setting to accommodate student interest and ability. Clear summative assessment.
Middle school Science: Science 7, 8, 9: Focus on lab skills and experiential learning. Clear criteria and feedback.
Elementary Science: Science 4,5,6: Inquiry based projects with a focus on scientific method i.e. observations etc.
Health, Career and Education: HCE 7,8,9 Planning 10-11: Health, money and careers are explored through online resources and guest speakers.
Unique Multiage Courses: Project and lab based Science, Community and Global Involvement Project, Mentorships: Based on student and community interest. Students engage in learning outside the classroom with fundraising, connecting with local experts, year-end trips and class time to explore personal interest including drones, 3D printers etc.
Humanities: Socials 10: Project based learning, discussion and current events. Perspective writing projects.
Electives 7-12: Athletics, Coding and IT, Art: Daily self-assessments, personal goals and rotational topics based in interest.
